Ambassador M. Michael Ainick,
Chairmen of the Advisory Board of Technocon LLC.
This is the first letter in what I hope and expect will be a regular cycle of updates from the various members of the Technocon LLC Advisory Board.
We will use this format to introduce new board members as the group expands.
I would like it to also become a dialogue, a tool for discussing technical issues as they relate to Ukraine's future recovery and growth.
It was a great honor for me to be asked to lead this work. To some extent, it is an extension of some of the initiatives we used to support the commercialization of local technologies when I was the Executive Director of the Ukrainian Science and Technology Center (USTC). In fact, many of Technocon’s key employees are alumni of this organization. This gives Technocon a unique approach to doing business. This approach is based on many years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing projects on behalf of official donors and multinational cooperations from the US, EU, Canada, Japan, and other countries. This is the only group of people I could devote my time and energy to supporting. They have a long-term vision of creating a platform for technology development.
Starting a new business is difficult even under the best of circumstances, and during a horrific and uncertain war, it is even more difficult.
However, one of the many things I have learned in decades of managing foreign policy is that it is never too early to ask, what will happen the day after tomorrow?
The role of Technocon, supported by its Advisory Board, is to help answer this question.
